Being a flashlight fan, I have many flashlights to compare this one too. This one is exceptionally awesome with something like five levels of brightness controlled by a dial. So whatever setting the dial is set to will come on when you turn the flashlight on. This flashlight has a extremely long throw (distance) and has a super bright, clear, focused beam with a nice glow around it. I bought one as a gift and then was so impressed, I had to by one for myself. With this powerful of a flashlight, you have to use "HIGH DRAIN protected or non protected batteries." If you use low drain 18650s, high power flashlights like this and others will shut down within minutes. The Nitecore batteries that came with the AceBeams I bought work great with no problems. I bought more of the same model of Nitecore's for back up batteries.This flashlight is awesome! throws a beam like no other. nice tight spot beam at 1/2 mile(as far as i could see into the trees). curious how far this beam will actually go. very pleased with the quality. feels rugged and like everything you would expect from a flashlight at this price.This is one bright light. Cuts through the dark like a knife. Little bit on the larger side but size does matter.Super bright! Love it...Overheats in less than 5 mins and shuts off. Waste of $200
